An old dream (substitution of ars poetic)

'T was twilight.
I was standing at the corner of our house.
Silence kept me waiting long, still, and motionless.
...................
And then, somehow ... I was getting .. closer ?
A gentle and mild breeze ... getting stronger.
And then, at last, I started to fall, slowly, like trees cut down, towards the fortissimo of an incredible light.

About myself

After I studied chemistry and obtained a degree as a teacher of mechanics, I decided to study drawing, carving, and forming beside pursuing my carreer in education. Today I look back on an artistic carreer of almost twenty years during which I have worked with stone and metal and have produced numerous statues, reliefs, and small sculptures. In addition to all that recently I have lead and managed major restauration projects as well. (See further details under: SHB Stúdió)

The key stepping stones of my carreer have been:

Becoming a member of the National Foundation of Arts (today called National Association of Hungarian Artists) as a sculptor in 1985, within the Department of Fine Arts,

Completing study tours in Sweden (in Göteborg in 1992 with the scholarship of the Swedish Institute) Spain and Italy (1990), Finnland (1988, 1994, and 2002) and Lithuania (1992),

Visiting the Faculty of Arts of the KINGSTON University, as a guest lecturer, and tutoring life drawing there,

Working in Poland in 1988 in Centrum Rzezby Polskiej ORONSKO Colony of Arts. It was there that I acted out the performance titled "HOMO – tombstone”.

I have had three solo exhibitions: in Budapest (1985), in Sárospatak (1992), and in Veszprém (2000).

My most significant group exhibitions have been:
Hódmezővásárhely Autumn Exhibitions (1987, 1988, and 1991), the XIth, the XIIth, and the XIVth Pécs Small Sculpture Biennale (1989, 1991, 1995), Exhibition „Small Statue 94” in Pesti Vigadó, and a group exhibition in Bonn, Germany, with the artists of the 22nd District of Budapest (1992).

Prizes:
„Eötvös József” Public Statue Tender Orosháza, (1987)
Hódmezővásárhely Autumn Exhibition (1988),
Tender for the Memorial of Victims of the 20th centuries’ wars Pesterzsébet (2002)
